This piece is the cultivation of several months of material research and testing. Collecting different types of ashes in combination with various materials and glazes, fired at different temperatures and sifted in various ways. Applied using different techniques to achieve this result.

two pinch pots, brought together in fire and smoke. in the smoke kiln and oven, the material undergoes a transformation through the interplay of flames and oxygen. this creates unique patterns on the surface. the result: an object with a raku appearance—cracks, soot, and color nuances that can never be replicated ~ shaped by heat, ash, and chance i think.
